The kit includes everything you need to build the airframe. Detailed instructions are provided on a CD
included with the kit. To complete the model as shown, you will need
- a receiver
- two 5g micro-servos
- motors and appropriate speed controller(s)
- paint, glue etc.
We offer two motor combos for this kit - the standard GWS IPS drives with 3x2 props, or our
new 9g brushless motors.
History
The P38 was the brain-child of Kelly Johnson, the legendary head of the "Skunk Works"
in Burbank, California. Although the initial test flights of the
aircraft were not promising, once the kinks had been ironed out the aircraft became
a jack of all trades. The aircraft served in all theatres of the war, but gained
particular notoriety in the Pacific where it laid waste to Japanese fighters and ships.
