The kit includes everything you need to build the airframe including carbon-fiber reinforcement.
Detailed instructions are provided on a CD included with the kit.
To complete the model as shown, you will also need:
- a receiver
- three 9g micro-servos
- two 10gm brushless motors and appropriate speed controllers
- Jello-cup plastic cowls
- paint, glue etc.
The C47 project has been in the works for a long time. The prototype flew well but was damaged in a nasty mid-air collision at the
2007 EFEST. It was quickly repaired and was flown on a regular basis. It is true to scale and looks really beautiful in the air.
We designed it with a retractable tow hook for grabbing a Horsa Glider! However - it flew too fast and really needed a redesigned airfoil for greater lift.
In the fall of 2010 I built a new version which is fantastic, it has the redesigned wing and uses smaller 9gm motors with scale 3-bladed 5' props..
it's 'ready for prime time' and simply needs the computer files done. We hope to kit it soon.
